Also a good use for that pocket. Someone told me it’s for a watch, but I don’t know.

Hmm... that's interesting. I always thought that little pocket was where you carried your little stash twisted up in a sandwich baggie.

It was indeed to house a watch. πŸ˜€
This mini pocket had been created in the 19th century as a protection for gusseted watches, those that hung from a chain, for lack of having yet seen the birth of the bracelet that allowed to wear the watch on the wrist. So the small pocket on the right is still called "watch pocket" by Levistrauss.

I still like the idea of putting your cat’s photo there…even though I don’t own a cat.

It's a very long time since I last wore jeans - ditched them for cargo trousers years ago. I'd forgotten about that pocket.

Same here. They used to be a standard part of my outfit, but now comfort is everything.

Except when I wear ball gowns, of course.

in reply to Katherine Bond

On those rare occasions when I do wear long pants, they are definitely jeans.
in reply to Katherine Bond

I've never worn a ball gown. Maybe I should dress up Mrs A in evening tails and ask her to summon a pumpkin to take me to a ball.

I still have a pocket watch, but I wouldn't recommend put it there often unless it has a lid, and the lid it's not golden (or silver) coated.

I’ve always though the pocket was way too small for a pocket watch @mc
